Probabilistic, regional-scale liquefaction analyses using Gaussian processes provide a solution to unify the disparate site-specific and deposit-scale approaches. Our implementation of Gaussian process regression was successful to evaluate and identify liquefaction hazards throughout Seattle Public Utilities water transmission system. Following the system-wide hazard analysis, Greenfield Geotechnical conducted site-specific investigations and remedial designs at several critical locations.
